spectacular spectacles.

they accent your face
like the stars in space.
they draw focus to where true beauty lies;
in your deep brown eyes.
did i really fall in love with you, i realized?
or did i fall in love the disguise for your eyes?

chameleons the spectacles be,
blending in to whatever trend you see.
with all shapes and sizes available to you,
you just have to pick a pair that's fresh and new.
there are no worries about infidelities,
for you may have as many as you please.

restless bodyguards they make,
shielding your pupils for your sake.
while protecting your eyes
from wild flies,
they can also shade your sight
so you don't step in shite.

sharper vision, ability to read,
darker sight; anything your eyes need.
combinations are also available,
that's what makes glasses so wonderful.
spectacular spectacles, i owe you my eyes;
for without you, i could never see her true guise.

The past two weeks have been supremely hectic and uber fast-paced. Since I got back from Montréal, I might've only cooked one meal at home, and I've just been coming home to sleep. My place had been a mess: I had clothes on the floor, bills and receipts all over my desk, flyers and mail all over the kitchen counter and my roommate's hair accumulating in the corners of the apartment... But now that work at MB is back to semi-normal, I decided to skip hip hop class to clean up and catch up.

I haven't had much time to bike hike, outsid
e of riding to and from work. But I've been thinking about a second-hand bike a lot lately. The reason I want a second bicycle is so that I run errands with it, with the peace of mind that even if it gets stolen, I didn't pay all that much for it. I just want a beater bike that I can leave outside the mall for 12 hours. And when I come back, it'll either still be there cause it's such a shitty bike no one would want it; or it'll be stolen, but I wouldn't care cause I paid less than $10 for it and it came with kickass rainbow streamers.

Another reason I want a beater bike is so I can install a basket in the front and a milkcrate in the back to run errands. I hate having to bring my duffelbag with me to the grocery stores and load it up with 50lbs of crap over my one shoulder. With the beater bike, I wouldn't care what it looked like, so long as it did the job.

And I think I just found what I need... Thank you instructables.com!

bike hike 2008-1: lakeshore west

a few weeks ago, I started to bike again. mainly to and from work, which is only a 20 minutes walk. the first day of biking proved to be quite a challenged. by the time i got in to work, i was all sweaty, my lungs were burning, my legs were aching, my heart was pounding and my head spinning. it made me think. we really need a shower at our office.

last weekend, because of the ttc strike, it killed my plans to go uptown for the day. there had been a lot of things
clouding my mind, so instead i biked for 4 hours or so sunday to get to clear my head. i went to christie pits to get ice cream and people watch, then i biked southwest to lakeshore and lansdowne and stopped to rest by the lake. i enjoyed the solitary moments watching the waves hit the sand and the seagulls hover over the water. then i biked all the way to park lawn rd and lakeshore, and then turned back to head home. it was a really nice ride. i wanted to take pictures my biking adventures, but i had forgotten my camera at home. boo.

my goal is to be able to bike uptown to richmond hill before the end of june. it will be a challenge, especially since the north end of the city isn't the most biker friendly areas. but with a bit of research, i should be able to find trails and biker friendly streets to get to my where i want to.

on other non-biking news, they were filming a movie around the corner of my condo at lakeshore and bathurst last friday night. i took a few pictures from my balcony of the scene. saw them blowing fake snow onto the ground, with all these rusty cars there. according to this discussion board from torontojungle.com (post #2), they were filming max payne the movie. imbd says mark wahlberg will be playing max payne. that's pretty hot. he's perfect for the part. now, off to montreal for the weekend. cheers!
